A unique and unforgettable Tour de l’Île! Come take your Tour!
>> by Le Tour de l'Île de Montréal
Montréal, June 8, 2003 — The 19th annual Tour de l’Île de Montréal will be a unique and unforgettable experience. Some 30,000 cyclists will fill the streets of Montréal all the way along a very unusual route. And although the organizers of the event take their job very seriously, they are just as committed to ensuring that the day is filled with laughter!

For its 19th edition, the Tour de l’Île will again rely on the Just for Laughs team to provide a broad range of very amusing and highly original entertainment. A 48-kilometre route, a chance to taste some of Québec’s best cheeses, a unique opportunity to cycle through two quarries and explore several different boroughs!

The cyclists will begin to gather at 9:15 a.m. near Parc Laurier on Boulevard Saint-Joseph. The Tour will take them through about a dozen boroughs in the City of Montréal. Approximately 2,600 volunteers will join in the fun and help make the event spectacularly colourful!

Presented by the Fédération des producteurs de lait du Québec, in collaboration with RONA, the Montreal Bike Fest is produced by the Tour de l'Île de Montréal, a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life and the environment. This week-long celebration contributes to Montréal’s festive atmosphere, making the city a more attractive place to live and visit.
